Inspection Guide
An electric counterbalance lift where the battery pack and drive system are the whole cost. A tired pack quietly halves the value.
Crown's FC series is a common electric counterbalance forklift. On any electric lift, the battery pack is the dominant cost and the drive motor and controller are next, so we test the electrical system as hard as the mast.
A worn battery pack is the single biggest electric-lift cost.
CHECK Test pack voltage under load, check cell condition, and review pack age and watering history.
Drive motor and controller faults are expensive.
CHECK Road test for power and scan for controller faults.
Chains and forks affect safety and capacity.
CHECK Measure chain stretch and fork wear.
Lift cylinders drift when worn.
CHECK Raise a load and check for drift.
Brakes and tires wear.
CHECK Test braking and inspect tires.
