Inspection Guide
A common 6k-class Cat telehandler. Boom wear pads, cylinders, forks, and the load-chart system define the inspection.
The Cat TL642 is a widely used telehandler on job sites. The boom and cylinders carry the value, and the forks and stability system are the safety items to verify.
Worn pads let the boom sections move.
CHECK Extend and check for play; inspect pads.
Lift/extend/tilt cylinders drift and leak.
CHECK Hold a load and check for drift.
Forks and carriage wear.
CHECK Caliper fork heels and inspect carriage.
The load chart and any stability aid must be present and working.
CHECK Verify the load chart and any indicator function.
Driveline and tires wear.
CHECK Road test and inspect tires.
